Total Hip Replacement

Total hip replacements are among the most successful and life-changing procedures in the whole of medicine. I perform cemented and uncemented total hip replacements, that have over 25 years of proven success throughout the world. 

 

I use either metal on polyethylene, ceramic on polyethylene or ceramic on ceramic bearing surfaces. I have never used the metal on metal bearing that has recently attracted negative press.

 

Traditional surgical approaches and modern anaesthetic methods allow a rapid post-operative recovery. Careful supervision by experienced physiotherapists makes early mobilisation as safe and comfortable as possible. This also helps avoid complications such as infections and blood clots.
